The National Cadet Corps “ is popularly known as the N.C.C. it is formed for the benefit of school and college students. Its aim is to provide service training and leadership training for the students. The qualities like co-operation, comradeship, team spirit and service mindedness are infused in their minds. In every school and college, a teacher will be in charge of the N.C.C. The teacher has to undergo training in conducting parades. They are taught the techniques of warfare and sent to summer camps for special training. They are given training in the three armed forces. The N.C.C. is run by the Defense Ministry of India. The Government has felt that the youth are the future citizens of India and will be the pillars of the nation. So they should be prepared to protect the nation and the society. The N.C.C. cadets now go to help the victims of the cyclones and floods. We should join N.C.C. in our school and college days. N.C.C. disciplines us both physically and mentally. It also infuses the spirit of service to our nation. The N.C.C. would have lost its importance in the modern fast world, but a student to become an enlightened and disciplined human being N.C.C. training is must.
